'Future challenges to ballistic missile defense' paints wrong picture [comments and reply]

1997
For pt. I see ibid., p. 60-8, September 1997. In their description of that give-and-take for high-altitude theater missile defense systems, George N. Lewis and Theodore A. Postel overstate the ease and efficacy of offense countermeasures, understate the potential of defense countercountermeasures, and thus paint a picture of defense futility. But that picture is as inaccurate as the one the authors paint of Patriot's performance in Desert Storm. Both are suggested as wrong by the present authors. The original authors give their reply.
