Study on the biology of three parasites of Aonidiella aurantii

1995
The present paper deals with the growth development, oviposition and longe vity of Aonidiella aurantii s parasitoids: Encarsia citrina, Aphytis melinus and A. lingnanesis. It showed that A. melinus developed most rapidly, followed by A. lingnanesis and E. citrina. E. citrina prefer red 2nd instar scales, and A. melinus and A. lingnanesis preferred 3rd i nstar ones. The eggs of E. citrina emerged from different host stages were different, too. At last, a model about the rate of development at various tempe ratures has been built up.
