Imaging of tissue reperfusion by dynamic optical tomography

2000
We have explored the real-time response of the forearm vasculature to partial obstruction and subsequent restoration of blood flow. Dual–wavelength measurements were collected at 2 Hz, and the resulting image series (120 images per wavelength) was analyzed using appropriate time-series analysis methods. The temporal properties of the absorption coefficients' spatial distributions gave clear evidence of coordinated reperfusion among well-separated zones of peripheral tissue.
