Clinical trials of herbal biomolecules

Abstract The clinical effects of the bioactive compounds of different herbal medicines were reviewed. The relevant articles published in the English language were searched using keywords including various compound names, names of different disorders, until the end of September 2020 from Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases. Various bioactive compounds of of herbal medicine including plants from genus Achillea, Allium cepa, Crocus sativus, plants of the genus Ferula, Nigella sativa, Ocimum basilicum, Portulaca oleracea, Thymus vulgaris, and Zataria multiflora showed therapeutic effects on various disorders of the body organs. Therefore the reviewed bioactive compounds showed therapeutic effects on various disorders and therefore could be considered as candidate drugs for treatment of these disorders.
