HEAT TRANSFER TO COOLING COIL ACTING AS ROTATING IMPELLER IN HIGHLY VISCOUS LIQUIDS

1972
Heat transfer coefficients from a jacket wall (hj) and to a rotating coil impeller (hc) were studied in highly viscous non-Newtonian liquids. Correlated equations were determined for both hj and hc in laminar and turbulent regions. It was observed that hc was almost three times as large as hj. An explanationis presented for this phenomenon.
