Lattice imaging of the hexagonal ferrites - the MnS series -

Abstract Direct lattice imaging techniques are applied to study stacking sequences and sequence faults in hexagonal ferrites of the M n S-type. A similar imaging code as deduced for the M 2 Y n -type compounds enables direct recognition of the stacking sequences from the high resolution transmission electron micrographs. Hexagonal ferrite crystals with stacking sequences of the type M, MS, M 2 S and M 4 S have been investigated.
