Short-Term Variations of Geochemical Profiles in Pore Waters of Lower St. Lawrence Estuary Sediments

1992
Daily collections of box cores were made at a site in the middle of the Laurentian Trough, Lower St. Lawrence Estuary, to study the chemical responses of the sediments to short-term changes in the flux of fresh organic matter. Each of the 18 cores was finely subsampled under N2 atmosphere and the pore waters separated and analyzed for nitrate, ammonium, silicate, phosphate, iron, and manganese.
