Wear Mechanism of Multi-component PTFE-based Composites with n-SiC

The tribological characters of multi-component PTFE-based Composites with n–SiC were analyzed. The results indicated that the wear mechanism of multi-component PTFE-based composite is adhesive dominantly with some micro-ploughing; but for multi-component PTFE-based Composite with n–SiC, micro-ploughing became primary at the condition of P=200 N,V=0.42 m/s, t=2 h. The friction coefficient of the composite with 3%n-SiC is 0.1472, its wear resistance is 17.81 times higher than that of the JS-13.
