The analysis of the socio-environmental deterioration was made by means of a cause-effect matrix applied to 477 families, in 39 sectors of the sub-basin. Water samples were collected at 8 points of the riverbed, whose study length was 36.99 km. The samples were processed in a laboratory of the Ministry of Environment. It was found that the sub-basin of the Tinaquillo river exhibits a strong socio-environmental deterioration that is impacting the quality of its waters as a result of high concentrations of pollutants, without any previous treatment, coming from agricultural, industrial and urban activities located in high and medium sectors of the sub-basin; Hence, the intensification of the degradation of the sub-basin was demonstrated, contributing to the decrease in life quality
