Optimization algorithm of inverse problem for a power-frequency electric field

Summary Aiming at the poverty of algorithm of the inverse problem for a power-frequency electric field, this study presents the calculation model and the basic equation of the inverse problem and analyzes the causes of ill-conditioned inverse problems. To obtain a relatively stable optimization method, the Tikhonov regularization is used to solve the ill-posed characteristics caused by the interference in the measured data, and genetic algorithm is used to choose the regularization parameters. The optimization algorithm is applied to a 110-kV insulator string, and the comparative analysis on the calculation errors is presented with the single use of the Tikhonov regularization. The simulation model verifies the validity of the inverse detecting process of the insulators. The results show that the optimization algorithm can realize a stable solution and the inverse detecting of faulty insulators. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
