Development of extrusion die for aluminum gear and its numerical simulation

An extrusion die was designed for an aluminum gear and a finite element analysis model was built in which the steady-state flow of extruded metal was obtained and the distribution of velocity,stress and displacement were studied.Based on the numerical simulation results,a modification scheme was proposed in which the bearing of upper die was adjusted and flow barrier ring was added in the lower die.
