Influences of IT Consulting Service on Information System Strategic Planning Effectiveness Under Dynamic Circumstances

IT consulting companies have arisen to help organizations make effective information system strategic plan (ISSP) in dynamic environment. But, how does IT consulting service affect the ISSP effectiveness? Based on some literature, Improvement of Capabilities and Flexibility are regarded to be the indicators of ISSP effectiveness while by empirical research, Effective Communication, Support level of Service and Working experience are considered to be the key factors of IT consulting service. Then we propose a research model to address this problem. Data are collected from a semi controlled survey and analyzed by following a psychometric procedure. Results show that effective communication skill of IT consulting teams positively affects the flexibility and improvement of capability of ISSP, the working experience of IT consulting company positively affects the flexibility and improvement of capability of ISSP.
