Study on Land Ecological Safety Based on Ecological Footprint in Ya'an City

2010
Based on the statistical data of Ya'an in 1999-2006,we carried out initial research for the city's ecological footprint, ecological capacity and ecological deficit. The results showed that the ecological footprint per capita in Ya'an city increased from 1.068 hm2 in 1999 to 1.657 hm2 in 2006,whereas,the ecological capacity per capita decreased from 0.925 hm2 to 0.832 hm2;the ecological deficit per capita increased from 0.143 hm2 to 0.825 hm2;the ecological tension index increased from 0.858 to 1.126.Ecological footprint million GDP fluctuation was between 1.87 hm2 and 2.78 hm2 with national average of 2.212 hm2.Ya'an ecological footprint per capita exceeded the ecological carrying capacity per capita, showing a huge ecological deficit and ecological deficit is basically linear upward trend. The results indicated that the development model of Ya'an city was not sustainable, and the land resources was almost in the ecology over burden condition, suggesting that the land ecological environment is at risk. The results would provide theory basis for revealing the essence of regional ecological safety of land, and at the same time,it pointed out that the coordination of people, resources and regional economic development might alleviate the situation of insecurity.
