Effect of Turning Residual Stress Distribution on Barrel Radial Runout Stability

2020
Aiming at the problem of the bending barrel due to residual stress during turning, a scheme which analyzes the dimensional stability of the barrel by using the method of the ultrasonic critical refraction longitudinal wave to measure the residual stress of barrel is proposed. According to measuring the distribution of residual stress and the data of radial runout of the barrel at different turning stages, and comparing the stress distribution of qualified and unqualified parts of the barrel's radial runout, it can be concluded the reason for product deformation, and that help to provide a reliable basis for the deformation law of the barrel's size at different turning stages. The results show that the non-destructive measurement of residual stress distribution state of the barrel during the turning process plays an important role in monitoring the dimensional stability of turned barrel.
