Development of monolith catalyst for catalytic partial oxidation of methane

2007
Abstract In an attempt at developing of the catalysts for catalytic partial oxidation, the Rh/(CeO 2 +ZrO 2 +MgO) catalyst showed good activity. And the investigation for the effect of the residence time on product gas compositions suggested that the direct catalytic partial oxidation (D-CPOX: CH 4 +0.5O 2 →CO+2H 2 ) occurred at first, then steam reforming, CO 2 reforming or methanation reaction followed D- CPOX. The results of XPS analysis of these catalysts represented that the Rh species on the CeO 2 +ZrO 2 +MgO support was reduced more easily than that on the MgO support.
