This study aims to determine the perceptions of parents of school zoning system policies in the acceptance of new students at the State High School level in the Wonogiri Region 2018/2019 Academic Year. This research is a qualitative research with ethnographic design. Data collection techniques using interviews and observation. To maintain the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The result of this study indicate that goverment sosialization about school zoning system policies are still many parents who do not understand about the school zoning system policies. Parent’s responses to school zoning policies are an effective value for evaluating a policy implemented by the government. Impacts arising from the implementation of the school zoning system policy include the distance of the house close to the school directly accepted, parents do not need to find a boarding house, save on transportations costs, parents can monitor childern’s relationships, train children to be independent and confident, and with the system zoning school children cannot freely choose the school they want. The parent’s proposal for the adoption of a school zoning system policy is expected. The goverment does not restrict children from choosing schools.
