Process for preparing an aqueous dispersion of powder coating material (powder slurry), wherein: (1) at least one binder liquid is emulsified in an aqueous medium in a dispersing apparatus sprockets, (2) resulting emulsion is allowed to cool, so that a suspension is formed, and (3) the suspension is filtered, the apparatus having scattering gear rings at least one cylindrical arrangement of at least two crowns of elements rotating grinding in opposite directions between yes (stator and rotor) surrounded by one another and seated on supports, wherein the working gap relative movement between stator and rotor having walls which extend parallel not to each other.
