Mechanomaking of nanostructure in nitrided Fe–Cr alloys by cyclic “dissolution–precipitation” deformation-induced transformations
2013
Structural-phase transformations in surface layers of iron and Fe‒ Cr‒ (Ni) alloys subjected to ion-plasma nitriding and subsequent cold plastic compression shear deformation in Bridgman anvils have been investigated by the methods of Mossbauer spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray analysis. It has been shown that the deformation-induced cyclic phase “dissolution–precipitation” transformations of nitrides in alloys lead to the formation of nitrogen oversaturated solid solutions, precipitation of secondary nitrides and nanostructurization of the metal matrix.
