Spectral emissivity of the 4.3-μm CO2 band at high temperature

Abstract The spectral absorptivity of the 4.3-μm CO 2 band was measured at 2900 K. A hot CO 2 sample was formed in an oxygen-methane flame. Our experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical calculations in the weak- and strong-line limits. However, the statistical model overpredicts the absorptivity at intermediate optical depths.
