Study on application of indirect ELISA for quantitatively detecting Rubella IgG

2003
Objective To establish an indirect Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)method for detecting rubella IgG antiboby in serum. Methods The rubella antigen was extracted from succession of culture monolayer Vero cell infected with RV GOS strain. An indirect ELISA was developed. The sensitivity, specificity, repetition were evaluated and compared with the ELISA approach provided by Diasorin Co. Results The sensitivity of the indirect ELISA quantitative assay is 3 IU/ml.The indirect ELISA assay yielded 221/226 positive results, resulting in a sensitivity of 97 79 %.The specificity was 95 45 %(42/44),and accuracy was 97 41 %(263/270).The relative coefficient (r) between two methods was 0 92 (P0 05). Conclusion The indirect ELISA method is specific and sensitive, reliable and simple, and can be used for screening the rubella antiboby in premarital women.
