Objective Standard esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is costly and uses conscious sedation that cirrhotic patients may tolerate poorly. This study aimed to determine the feasibility and acceptance of unsedated esophagoscopy with an ultrathin battery-powered endoscope (BPE) in cirrhotic patients for diagnosing esophageal varices (EV).
