Chemotherapeutic activity of some sulfapyridine-1-oxides.

Summary6′-Methylsulfapyridine-1-oxide was found to be a potent chemotherapeutic agent in the treatment of E. coli infections in mice. It did not cause hypoglycemia in the rat. Intravenous administration of the sodium salt of its acetylated derivative did not lead to urolithiasis.
