The invention discloses high-dispersion stable-suspension fine lanthanum oxide gum-containing slurry and a preparing method thereof. The fine lanthanum oxide gum-containing slurry is characterized by being composed of fine lanthanum oxide powder the mass fraction of which is 5-15%, and the balance gum-containing ethanol-water mixing solution. The gum-containing ethanol-water mixing solution is composed of water, ethyl alcohol and polyvinyl alcohol glue solution (commonly known as glue solution), wherein the volume fraction of the polyvinyl alcohol glue solution is 3-5%, and the volume ratio of ethyl alcohol to water in the ethanol-water mixing solution is 1:4. By coating the surface of a material to be modified with the slurry, a dispersively distributed fine lanthanum oxide particular precoated layer with high adhesion can be formed on the surface of the material to be modified after drying solidification, and the requirement for introducing fine powder to fields of grain surface modification technology such as laser melt injection can be met.
