Switching power converters

2004
There is provided a switching power converter which includes a switching cell having a supply input, an output and a control input. A Summierkomparator has a first and a second differential pair of inputs and an output. The output is connected to the control input of the switching cell. An oscillator provides a periodic waveform which is applied to a first input of the first differential input pair of Summierkomparators. An adjustable reference voltage source provides an adjustable reference voltage from which a predetermined fraction is applied to a second input of the first differential input pair of Summierkomparators. An error amplifier has differential outputs that are coupled to the second differential input pair of Summierkomparators, and a differential input pair. A first input of the differential input pair coupled to the output of the switching cell, and the adjustable reference voltage from the adjustable reference voltage source is applied to a second input of the differential input pair. Thus, the desired DC voltage is scaled such that it generates a DC reference current to the comparator, the desired duty cycle for the pulse signal that drives the switching cell, and thus produces the desired regulated output voltage, only small corrections to the errors terminals are required to small to correct faults.
