Microhardness and indentation size effect on different faces of TGS crystal

2019
Vickers microhardness studies has been carried out on (001), ferroelectric (010), (101), (ī ī 1) and (ī 11) faces of TGS crystal. The reverse ISE is examined with Meyer’s law, Hays-Kendall, Elastic/Plastic deformation, proportional specimen resistance (PSR) and modified PSR model. Further, load independent hardeness values are estimated. Observation of the experimental data shows that the modified PSR model is found to be the most effective and reasonable model than the other to determine the load independent hardness values on different faces of the TGS crystal which exhibit reverse ISE.
