Provided is a photoelectric conversion element having a high durability against light irradiation, the photoelectric conversion element including: an anode; a cathode; an active layer provided between the anode and cathode, the active layer containing a perovskite compound; and an electron transportation layer provided between the cathode and the active layer, the electron transportation layer containing a fullerene derivative represented by the formula (1). (In formula (1), ring A represents a fullerene skeleton. R1, R2, R3, and R4 represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an arylalkyl group, a monovalent heterocyclic group, or a group represented by the following formula (2). n represents an integer of 1 or greater.) (In formula (2), m represents an integer from 1 to 6. q represents an integer of 1-4. X represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an aryl group. If there is more than one of m, each m may be identical or different.)
