Analysis of K-Rated Transformer to Make it Suitable to Handle The Harmonics Generated by Solid State Devices on The Load Side

This paper gives the practical observations and the analysis of the various harmonics created problem to supply transformers. In present day scenario more and more application of solid state devices are in use resulting a non- linear load in the load side and as we know these harmonics created due to non-linear load travel back to the source side. Normal power transformer or distribution transformer will have enormous iron losses and the other related losses which may result the burning of the transformer. So, a K-rating concept has been developed to withstand the harmonics created problem.
