Gene probe conjugation by unconventional mixed anhydride method

PURPOSE: To facilitate the production of a gene probe by efficiently conjugating gene probes through the mixed anhydride method. CONSTITUTION: A mixed acid anhydride is formed and the anhydride is reacted with polynucleotide in an organic/aqueous solvent to conjugate a label to an aminoalkyl-functionalized polynucleotide.
