Enhanced Rotating Polarization Wave for Robust Wireless Connectivity

2020
Industry 4.0 has inspired the emergence of reliable machine-to-machine systems. Rotating Polarization Wave offers highly reliable communication that employs BPSK modulation. This paper proposes Rotating Polarization QPSK (RP-QPSK) using two orthogonal baseband QPSK modulators to increase data rate. Simulation shows RP-QPSK outperforms uni-, dual-and circular polarization in terms of bit error rate (BER). RP-QPSK also outperforms SigFox and LoRa modulations when the sampling rate is three times and ten times the symbol rate, respectively. The BER improves with higher sampling rates.
