Definition,Classification and Treatments of Bifurcation Lesions

Treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions represents a challenging area in interventional cardiology.The introduction of drug-eluting stents reduced restenosis in the main branch.However,side branch risk of acute closure,restenosis at the ostium of the side branch and stent thrombosis remain the problems.We review the definition,classification and treatment strategies of bifurcation lesions in order to give an insight in this erea.
