Abstract The oxidation of Clarithromycin A with meso -tetraarylmetalloporphyrins and NaOCl led to the formation of the 3′-NClMe Clarithromycin A ( 5 ) 3′-oxo Clarithromycin ( 6 ) and Clarithromycin A N-oxide ( 4 ).
