CT and MRI diagnosis of cerebral cavernous angiomas

2008
Objective To explore CT and M RI scan technique in diagnosis of cerebral cavernous angiomas (CA). Meth- ods MRI findings of cerebral CA in 36 cases proved by operation and pathology were reviewed. Results The lesion of in- tracerebral cavernous hemangioma could be located in every region of the brain, which single lesion was more often and mosl lesions had no or slightly edema without space - occupying effect slight hyperdensity mass were appeared in plain CT scan, and calcification were seen in of the 68.7% mass, the most of them were shown without enhancement. The characteristic MRI features were multiberry - like inhomogeuous intensity with flocculnt hypointensity ring. No enhancement could be seen. There were normal appearance in MRA. Conclusion For cerebral cavernous angiomas can be dignosed by CT and MR imaging fetures and MR scan is advantage than CT scan.
