Mössbauer-Spektroskopie: Grundlagen und Anwendungen

1999
Mossbauer Spectroscopy. Fundamentals and Application of the Mossbauer Effect. Mossbauer spectroscopy is known to be an outstanding tool for nondestructive characterisation and identification of materials. Material properties of cast iron and steel can be improved by the aid of precise phase analysis of austenite and martensite with regard to toughness and hardness as well as corrosion products of tubes, covered with organic layers, are identified under the polyethylene coat. Investigating friction, lubrication and wear reaction products are identified and phase transitions in the subsurface region proved. It is also shown that the Fe(II)/Fe(III) ratio in technical glasses can be determined without pretreatment.
