On the ethics conceived in Yi Zhuan

2005
Related to the turning of the slave-owning system to feudal system in the Warring States Period, philosophy and ethics in this period also presented the tendency of unity. Yi Zhuan was one of the most important works exhibiting this tendency. As a collection of the pre-Qin ethical thoughts, Yi Zhuan raised and systematically expounded the origin, principles, regulations, and evaluation of virtue, and established the framework for Chinese ethics and exerted far-reaching influences on its development, playing an important role in the history of Chinese ethics.
