enetic construct of β-glucuronidase(GUS),driven by various 5' upstreamelements,were delivered into immature embryos and embryonic calli of wheat(Zhong60634).Effects of several commonly used promoters and TMV omege enhancerson GUS transient expression were compared by in situ enzyme assay and fluorimetricassay,Then the most effectient maize Ubil promoter was selected to construct a vectorcarrying a rabbit defensin(NP-1) gene to be expressed in wheat,and was transferredinto immature embryos of wheat via particle bombardment Southem blot analysisshowed the presence of the NP-1 gene in all PCR positive transformants,suggestingthe integration of the gene into wheat genome.biological test is being carried out.
