A peripheral component piercing pin (20), comprising: a housing (22) having a first side (24) and an opposite second side (26) to the first side (24); at least two drills (30) extending from the second side (26) of the housing (22), and a drive mechanism (44, 46) within the housing, the drive mechanism (44, 46) configured to rotate the at least two drills (30) and cause simultaneously penetrate the bone surface (36); wherein component drill peripheral pin (20) further comprises an opening defined (32) on the second side (26) of the housing (22), the opening defined (32) that is configured to receive an alignment pin ( 34) extending from a bone surface (36).
