Comparison of changes in activity of some hemocoagulation factors during contraception and therapy with combinations of synthetic steroids with varied gestagenic components
1971
Comparison has been made of the effect of 2 estrogen-gestagen preparations on some hemocoagulation factors using preparations with the same estrogenic (mestranol) component and with different gestagenic components. During contraception as well as with therapeutic administration of the preparations the following parameters were considered: the Quick test pure prothrombin fractioned consumption of prothrombin fibrinogen levels euglobulin fibrinolysis and plasma-thrombin time. Some increase in the fibrinogen levels and decrease in fibrinolytic activity were found with the preparation containing 18-methylen-6-dehydro-17-alpha-acetoxyprogresterone while with the administration of the preparation containing 17-alpha-ethinyl-4-estrene-3-beta-17-beta-diol-diacetate no change in fibrinogen levels and a significant increase in fibrinolytic activity were found.(Authors modified)
