Theoretical Analysis of M×N Microring Resonator Array on Silicon

General formulas of transfer functions are presented and transmission characteristics are analyzed for an M×N microring resonator array (MRRA).Simulated results show that when the number of rows M is odd,the larger the number of rows M and columns N,the flatter and precipitous the resonant peak,and the better the device filtering becomes.When M=5 and N=10,the 3dB bandwidth of the resonant peak is about 0.35nm.
