Adaptive phase locked loop employing frequency and phase processing technique

This work describes an adaptive second order phase locked loop which will prevent skipping cycles for a wide range of input disturbances. Matched FETs were used to vary the loop parameters according to the frequency and phase error between the input signal and that of the VCO. The analysis of the system was carried out and the system was constructed practically. The experimental results were in full agreement with the expected theoretical one.
