A fluorescent antibody study of the simian foamy agent.

1960
Summary The fluorescent antibody technique has been used to observe antigen localization during the progressive development of foamy degeneration in naturally infected monkey kidney tissue cultures and in inoculated tissue cultures of several types. The indirect fluorescent antibody technique has been useful as an antibody screening procedure and has allowed the selection of monkeys free of foamy agent from the colony for use in the preparation of tissue cultures.
