Aproximación microsociológica a la fachada personal en adultas mayores a partir de componentes de la apariencia

This article explored the handling of elderly women’s personal facade through components of appearance. The approach considered a multiple case, exploratory and descriptive study. It included five women over 60 years old. It concluded that elderly women guide their appearance intentionally, with the resources at their disposal to minimize whatever devaluates them socially, hiding devaluating issues to achieve a satisfactory personal facade. There is a narrow enabling environment to express desire, as the idea that women need to take care of themselves according to their age.
