This symmetric filter operation device (10) is provided with: a first data shuffling unit (161) that reads a first data string from a register file (140) and extracts a left-side data string from the first data string, said first data string comprising multiple continuous data, and said left-side data string comprising multiple continuous data to be multiplied by a left-side filter coefficient which is a filter coefficient set on the left side with respect to the center of the first data string; and a second data shuffling unit (162) that reads a second data string from the register file (140) and extracts a right-side data string from the second data string, said second data string comprising multiple continuous data, and said right-side data string comprising multiple continuous data to be multiplied by a right-side filter coefficient which is set on the right side with respect to the center of the second data string and has the same value as the left-side filter coefficient.
