Epidemiological Analysis of the Characteristics of Male Commercial Heterosexual Transmission of HIV in Several Provinces

OBJECTIVE To find out the epidemiological characters and distribution of commercial heterosexual transmission of HIV in several provinces in China.METHODS From June to August,2010,a cross-sectional study was performed to interview the sociodemographic characteristics,sexual behaviors characters among reported heterosexual transmission male HIV positives who were infected through commercial sexual partners in 2009 in several provinces in China.RESULTS A total of 291 male HIV positive adults infected by commercial sexual partners were recruited with informed consent for study.Most of male HIV positive adults had commercial sexual intercourses in low graded sex venues,which accounted for 64.50%of all.The rate of condom use in low graded sex venues was lower than that in high.HIV positive adults elder than 50 years old accounted for 38.80%of all,who had more commercial sexual partners than people in other age groups,and the rate of condom use are lower than people in other age groups.CONCLUSIONS Most of HIV positives had commercial sexual intercourses in low graded sex venues,HIV positive adults elder than 50 years old should not be neglected.
