A 68-Year-Old Man Presented to the Office Asking for Evaluation of an Erythematous Plaque Located on the Right Subscapular Region

2020
A 68-year-old patient sought for dermatological consultation due to enlarging erythematous plaque, located on the right subscapular region. A large linear erythematous lesion, 3.3 × 0.5 cm in diameter, located on the right subscapular region was noticed. Dermoscopic examination revealed the absence of a pigment network and presence of reddish structureless areas associated with fine short telangiectasia as well as several erosions corresponding to superficial basal cell carcinoma. Apart from this lesion, a small pigmented flat lesion from the inner side of the lesion attracted our attention. The dermoscopic examination showed erythematous area with erosion in the central part of the lesion, while on the periphery of the lesion, leaf-like areas were seen corresponding to one more basal cell carcinoma.
