Thermal runaway for a reaction–diffusion equation

2003
A central problem in the classical theory of combustion is considered. A new analytical solution is obtained via the complex analysis and functional framework for the nonlinear elliptic equation describing the flow of heat in thermally explosive material with constant thermophysical properties. We employ physically realistic boundary conditions and the condition for thermal runaway is expressed as the critical value of the Frank - Kamenetskii parameter.
