Macarrão Instantâneo: Refeição de Conveniência Instant Noodles: Convenience Meal

Man’s food habits suffered profound changes in the course of its evolution. Today it is common for people to work away from their homes, forcing them to prepare or consume meals in a simple, fast and low cost way. Due to this modern lifestyle, convenience meals have emerged as an option to overcome these difficulties and, in this context, in 1958, Mr. Momofuku Ando created instant noodles, a preparation quite consumed for its practicality, great sensory acceptability and affordability. This study aimed to meet the monthly household consumption and preferably taste of instant noodles in different cities in Brazilian Northeast. All respondents (n=200) responded that they were unaware that the noodles is the result of technological Japanese cuisine. As for the taste, the most consumed, in package, are: jerk chicken (47%), chicken (38%), followed by meat (8%) and our taste (6%). As for the noodles in pot, the most consumed flavor is jerk chicken (73%), followed by meat (27%). Despite the economic advantages and practicality, we evaluate with concern how often exaggerated is the purchase of this product, since regular consumption can lead to the emergence of non-communicable diseases foodborne.
