Regional trial of late rice varieties (middle-maturity group) in Central and Northern Guangxi.

In the present study,12 late rice varieties(middle-maturity group) have been tested in regional trials in Central and Northern Guangxi regions in 2008.Variety Zhongyou 838 was used as control.Most of the rice varieties showed suitable maturity and yield ranging from 6834 to 7580 kg / ha.Three rice varieties,viz.,4050A / R629,Jiayou 1972 and Lianyou 3189 had higher yield,better grain quality and resistance as compared to the control and could be cultivated in Central and Northern Guangxi as late rice varieties.These three varieties have been recommended for getting the certification by Guangxi Committee for Crop Variety Registration.Six rice varieties,viz.,Huiyou 6601,Zhongyanyou 600,Tianfengyou 1251,Tianfengyou 907,Tianfengyou 781 and Lefengyou 781 continued for regional trial and production test in 2009 and three varieties,viz.,Sanyou 02,Fengyuan A / CA20 and Huayou 354 were terminated in the test in 2009 due to lower yield,worse grain quality and resistance,etc.
