Recent development in recycle drying for batch processing industry

The Upjohn Company has been developing an efficient recycle drying system for batch processes. The system has been recently optimized for overall drying efficiency instead of energy conservation alone. Attention is given to heat transfer as well as mass transfer problems. Change in design philosophy is discussed and detailed design of an operating system is presented.
