NATIONALISM WITHIN THE NOVEL TANAH SURGA MERAH BY ARAFAT NUR

The study described the values of nationalism within the novel of Tanah Surga Merah by Arafat Nur. The data were collected throughout the main resource, Tanah Surga Merah , which was published in 2016. The data encompassed words, phrases, clauses, sentences and paragraphs indicating the values of nationalism within the novel. The study was conducted by applying objective approach. The result indicated that the former separatist members, who were main characters in this novel, still loved their homeland; despite that fact that some of their former partners turned to be corrupter due to the lust of power. The nationalism was also indicated by several characters, who became victims of local conflict in previous time. They still maintain nationalism in spite of obstacles from many parties, particularly those who were seduced by power and money.
