The invention discloses a system for controlling SVG/APF (static var generator/active power filter) in parallel operation. The system comprises two or more SVG equipment in mutually parallel connection and with controllers or two or more APF equipment in mutually parallel connection and with controllers, local area network connecting equipment connected with the controllers in all SVG equipment or all APF equipment, a voltage transformer disposed on a bus and with an output end connected with the controllers in all the SVG equipment or all the APF equipment, and a current transformer disposed on the bus and with an output end sequentially and serially connected with the controllers in all the SVG equipment or all the APF equipment. The invention further discloses a method for controlling the SVG/APF in parallel operation. By the system and the method, requirements of the SVG/APF equipment on communication instantaneity can be lowered, fault tolerance of all the SVG/APF equipment in parallel connection can be realized, equipment reliability is improved, equipment hardware configuration is simplified, and optimal compensation effect and equipment utilization rate are realized.
